XL3 Hybrid System
The XL3 hybrid powertrain system is designed for the most popular Class 2 through Class 6 commercial vehicles (6,000 to 26,000 lbs. GVW), including cargo and passenger vans, box trucks, walk-in vans, and shuttle buses. The technology transforms an OEM vehicle into a hybrid vehicle by adding an electric motor, an advanced lithium-ion battery pack and control software to the vehicle without making significant vehicle modifications or modifying the internal combustion engine or transmission.
XL Hybrids makes systems for the following vehicles:
- 2010-2015 Chevy Express and Savana 2500/3500 Passenger and Cargo Vans
- 2011-2014 E-150/250/350 Passenger and Cargo Vans
- 2011-2015 E-350/450 Cutaway and Strip Chassis

XL Hybrids’ design is unique because it allows for rapid, seamless installation as a ship-through option on new vehicles, or can be retrofitted on a vehicle already in service. XL Hybrids has signed agreements with many of the industry’s biggest OEM-certified upfitters, such as Knapheide Manufacturing, Adrian Steel, and Leggett & Platt Commercial Vehicle Products to install the system, providing capacity for XL Hybrids to process more than 100,000 vehicles per year. With our new low-cost, long-term financing options, fleets can start experiencing a net monthly saving during the first month of operation. The application process is an easy 1-page process. Financing options are perfect for high mileage fleets. This program also allows government agencies the ability to finance systems for retrofit applications on existing vehicles. Rates start as low as 5.85% and are subject to changes based on the Treasury rates. Actual rates may vary depending on customer credit. Optional vehicle financing is also available.
