The GTA has sent comments to the EPA and NHTSA on their joint proposed rule on truck fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction. The proposal calls for both fuel consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction standards applicable to medium- and heavy-duty trucks.
Thank you to all the companies who not only provided feedback and comments to be included in GTA’s overall submission, but also commented directly to the EPA and NHTSA.
The standards, including the advanced technology credit program, resulting from this rulemaking will shape our industry for years to come. In addition, the new rules should promote the integration of advanced technologies into the work trucks of the near- and long-term future.
The GTA's comments were generally in support of the proposed rule. These comments focused on broad advanced technology and alternative fuel issues. Many individual GTA members submitted their own comments, many of which were more specific in nature on certain issues. Complete GTA comments can be found here.
