M.H. Eby Inc. (Blue Ball, Pennsylvania) announced the retirement of Leon Martin after an extraordinary 48-year career with the company. Martin joined Eby in 1978, shortly after graduating from Garden Spot High School, and has become a well-known and loved figure in the trailer and truck body industry.
He began his career as a trailer and truck body builder, gaining hands-on experience with Eby’s product line and production methods. His deep understanding of the company’s operations led him to become a production supervisor for Eby’s livestock trailer line. Leon’s outgoing and encouraging personality soon led him to work in the sales department, where he served in roles ranging from dealer to retail sales.
Martin’s reputation as a product expert and trusted advisor helped him forge lasting relationships with customers throughout the eastern United States and Canada. Known for his dedication and expertise, He has left an indelible mark on both M.H. Eby and the industry as a whole.
“Leon’s contributions to Eby have been immeasurable,” said Travis Eby, company president. “His knowledge, kindness, and ability to connect with customers and colleagues alike have made him an integral part of the Eby family. While we will miss his daily presence, Leon’s legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come.”
In retirement, Leon looks forward to spending more time with his wife, Linda, their three married children, and eleven beloved grandchildren.
